A Summer Staff Testimony: God and I Working Together
Sometimes when we’re serving Jesus, it’s hard to know where our effort and obedience ends and his power begins. Nevaeh R.'s experience at Carolina Coast this summer is a great example of how God combines his power with our work to strengthen and use us for his glory in other’s lives.
“Throughout the summer it was very easy to let exhaustion take over and for me to feel drained. I wanted to give my all so I knew I couldn’t let how I was feeling rule over me. I had to train myself to rely on God throughout the day. I knew he could keep me energized and focused but also engaged with campers and my staff. They deserved my attention and willingness, and with God I was prepared to give them that! Hebrews 10 has always been a reminder throughout my life to never give up on my faith.
‘“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”’ (Hebrews 10:23-25)
Going throughout the summer seeing everyone leave their struggles at the cross encouraged me to do the same with my feelings and doubts and to never give up on what I know is real and true!”
