I started out with TEAMeffort so that I could give back to those in need, but it taught me so much more about my own needs. I owe the person I am today to my time with TEAMeffort and will be indebted to the incredible people that I have met forever! This summer will change your life!! "

"Working for TEAMeffort is an experience that is very hard to put into words. If I had to detail what a summer consists for me it would follow along this line; discovery. You will do more than you thought you were capable of. You will find blessings and miracles in places you never thought they would exist. His ministry will pour out in ways that are awesome, sweaty, fun, memorable and gracious.

Go Jesus!

Lindsey Kurtz - Staff '08 & '09

"Being on TEAMeffort Staff has not only brought me closer to Christ but I have formed many great relationships. Spending the summer together in Cleveland, we formed a tight knit group and grew as brother and sister in Christ. After the summer I came home with many great memories; from the fun times all the way to the serious times, each moment was great and I wouldn't change it for the world! I know that now I belong to a wonderful TEAMeffort family; one that will support me and be here through all life's challenges that come my way."

"I'm not going to lie, being a TEAMeffort staff member is not easy, but it is so worth it. Over the summer you will experience sweat, tears, splinters, junk food, hard work, tiredness, hammers and many different kinds of nails, countless hours at Lowe's and Home Depot, hot days, painting, subway everyday, friendships with co-staff members and youth groups, early mornings and late nights. Oh and I forgot, you are doing all of this to serve the Lord. You will see God work in ways you never have experienced before. And you yourself will grow closer to and strengthen your relationship with Christ, and get the opportunity to help lead others to Christ."

"When God called me to TEAMeffort I gained a better understanding of what God meant when He said, “Love as I have loved.” Through TEAMeffort, God has shown me why, and how to deeply love those He has loved and created. I can’t express in words what a TEAMeffort Summer is like, but I can say, loving like He has loved at first was just a command. Now it’s a joy."

Being on staff with TEAMeffort is like a Christian Real World. I’ve worked with people that think differently about stuff and do things differently than I do, but somehow we’ve worked together to bring people closer to Christ. I remind myself I am doing this for God, not my family, not my friends, not even the people I work with, but for Him. There were a lot of dynamics to this job, but I trust God and things were good.
Being on staff with TEAMeffort has been a blessing in many different ways.  It is an opportunity to serve God with my hands by working on people’s homes and other ministries.  It is also a way for me to impact the lives of so many students that come through our camps, many of which I still keep in contact with.  I’ve also worked alongside staff members that by the end of the summer have become more like family and who I can rely on throughout the year.

"Being on TEAMeffort staff has changed my life. Anytime a person gets to work with youth, lives are impacted, but with TEAMeffort not only are the camper's lives impacted, but so are the homeowners and the community we work in. It's a blessing to see students become passionate about serving others and truly become servant leaders. God has used TEAMeffort to not only draw me closer to Him, but to direct my calling, and show me that there is a purpose for my life. There are days when you think you can't go any further, but that's when you're swept away by God's strength and love.

The staff is my family, not just during the summer, but throughout the year as we love, support, and pray for one another in all walks of life. TEAMeffort is no longer just a job at camp, it has become part of who I am."

TEAMeffort is about loving the kid who just found out his parents are separating.  It’s about showing Jesus to a homeowner who hasn’t had a visitor in months.  The summer is about loving your staff member (soon to be family member) who is struggling with stuff back home.   It’s about loving the camper who is sick and this is her one week to be normal.  It’s about loving the kid who hasn’t heard from his father in years…or ever.  It’s about loving the girl who you know, sits alone at lunch.  It’s about loving the kid who has lost all hope.  It’s about loving the kid who doesn’t feel loved at home.  It’s about being a Jesus to someone who doesn’t know Him yet.

TEAMeffort is about loving the Lord with everything you have and trusting that He’s going to take care of it all! God is going to reveal Himself in the most amazing and surprising ways. .  He’s going to use you to show His love for people – all people. That is what He has called us to do.  To Love. Agape.

“And these remain, Faith, Hope, and Love; and the greatest of these is Love.” 1 Cor. 13.13

TEAMeffort is about love.  Loving the homeowners who have nothing but hope.  Loving your fellow staff member.  Loving the home repair store employees who know you by name…and aren’t surprised to see you 4…5…6 times a day.  Loving the campers who don’t know that there is no such thing as a left-handed hammer.  Loving the chaperones who make your job so much easier because they love the kids so much.
