Mission Projects:
Jamaica has approximately 2500 deaf children. Though they live in a country saturated with the Gospel, because of their deafness they represent an unreached group of people that is unable to hear the good news of Christ. TEAMeffort will be working alongside the Caribbean Christian Center for the Deaf to minister to these children. CCCD operates three residential schools for over 270 deaf children in Jamaica and is eager to construct new facilities to accommodate even more deaf children where they can be taught sign language and given an education. Then the gospel can be communicated to them. Work teams will help with general maintenance and upkeep, as well as with new construction projects at the schools in Montego Bay, Kingston, and Knockpatrick. There will be many informal opportunities to interact with the children at the school.
Lodging:
Groups will fly into Kingston or Montego Bay (depending on the week) and stay at the deaf school with on-site showers, gathering room, worship area, dining hall, and sports field. All food, ground transportation, project needs, evening programs & music, and even a fun day are covered.
Area Attractions:
Your group will have some time during the week as well as a free day to visit local attractions such as the straw market, waterfalls, and beautiful beaches.
Cost: $529 (excluding airfare)
