Q. Will our group serve together on the mission site?
A. Yes, we will keep your group together. However larger groups may be put on two different sites to make sure everyone is working.
Q. Do we need to provide transportation?
A. Yes, each group is responsible for their own transportation during the week. You will not be asked to transport youth from another group.
Q. Can we bring a charter bus instead of our church vans?
A. Yes, but please mention that when registering so we can make sure to assign you to a mission site that can accommodate a larger vehicle.
Q. Do we need to bring our own tools?
A. No, everything you need is provided by TEAMeffort.
Q. Do we need adult chaperones to attend with our youth group?
A. Yes, the TEAMeffort staff comes alongside your group to provide help at the mission site and leadership for the evening programs.
Q. Are both male and female chaperones required to attend?
A. TEAMeffort staff is not housed with the youth therefore it is best to have both male and female chaperones to make sure your youth are not bunking alone.
Q. What are the age requirements for the youth attending?
A. Our camps are open to middle and high school students. We are flexible about the ages of rising 6th graders and rely on the judgment of the youth leaders to decide if the youth is ready to attend.
Q. What is the chaperone to youth ratio?
A. We recommend a six to one ratio.
Q. Do the adult chaperones need to sign the release of liability form?
A. Yes, every participant needs to fill out and notarize the release of liability form. Be sure make copies and give the originals to the TEAMeffort staff at check-in and keep a copy for your records.
Q. What about medical insurance?
A. Every participant needs to have proof of current medical insurance and that information should be provided on the Permission Slip and Release of Liability Form.
Q. How do I receive more information about TEAMeffort Mission Camps?
A. Please click on the Contact Us icon at the top of this page or the Request Info Packet on our homepage, fill out the necessary information and you will receive a detailed booklet, DVD, and a registration form.
Q. Where can I find out more about TEAMeffort?
A. The TEAMeffort website is a great place to learn more about us especially on the Camps and About Us tabs located on the top of each page. Our Mission Statement and Statement of Faith can be found on the About Us page.
Q. What does the camp fee cover?
A. Your camp fee covers lodging, worksite materials, evening programs and all meals except for those on your free days.
Q. What about the overseas mission camps?
A. It is best to call our office and talk to our overseas coordinator for individual information about those trips.
Q. How do I know if there is room available for the week I’m interested in?
A. Just call the office, check availability and we will gladly reserve the space you need while you fill out the registration form and send in the deposit.
Q. What activities are scheduled for the evenings?
A. TEAMeffort has planned evening worship services geared directly for the youth. They include some of the following each night: games, skits, videos, music and a message from one of the adult or college staff. Thursday night closing programs are always special and an important wrap-up for the week. On Friday nights we have an evening of fun, fellowship and good-byes before everyone jumps on their church vans Saturday morning.
Q. How do youth leaders need to prepare for the week?
A. TEAMeffort staff will handle all of the details such as food (except meals during your free time), lodging, worksite materials and the evening worship services. Each evening after the worship service, groups will have an opportunity to discuss the message and activities of the day. We will provide a devotion book for each camper with questions about the message for you to discuss during your time together. All youth leaders need to do is use the activity map (located on each individual camp page on the TEAMeffort website) to plan for your free days and complete the youth leaders checklist also provided on your camp page. And of course, bring your youth ready to work hard and have fun.
