In the small towns and rural areas around the Ozark Mountains are people who quietly live in deplorable conditions with little hope of change. Youth groups will find the mission work heartbreaking at first as they see the destitute conditions in which people live, but that work will soon become heartwarming as they see the difference they can make in someone’s life. Reaching out to help these struggling families fix and maintain what little they have brings them a message of Christian caring and service that will warm their hearts. Group projects will be a mixture of roofing, painting, wheelchair ramp construction, and general clean-up and repair.
Lodging:
Groups will stay at Kairos Retreat which has bunk style cabins, dining hall, Chapel, hiking trails, volleyball, and basketbal. All meals are provided except for two lunches and two dinners during free time.
Area Attractions:
Hiking trails, caverns, horseback riding, canoeing, tubing, ropes course, rock climbing, Table Rock & Beaver Lakes, Branson, Missouri…
Typical Schedule:
Sunday: Registration begins at 6:00 pm. Orientation, music and worship
Monday: Work on the mission projects. Recreation and swimming Evening music and worship
Tuesday: Work on mission projects. Sports and game night. Evening music and worship
Wednesday: Work on mission project. Evening music and worship
Thursday: Work on mission projects till lunch. Free afternoon. Evening closing worship service.
Friday: Free day to visit local attractions. Friday night fellowship.
Saturday: Depart by 10:00 am
